Business Summary
Hundreds of patients use a dialysis service provider for reliable treatment and receiving proactive medical attention to avoid emergencies. Due to a huge gap between the number of patients needing treatment and the number of nephrologists available, diagnosis often gets delayed and is many times error prone. Therefore a more robust system is required to help better manage dialysis patients and perform better medical diagnosis in lesser time.

The Challenge
Security of patient data is always a key concern with any technology in the healthcare space. Analyzing large volumes of patient health data is often stored in proprietary formats that is hard to annotate for machine learning purposes. Discovering conditions in patient’s health and identifying the right kind of diagnosis using machine learning is still in its infancy.

The Solution
ICG’s IoT/AI Digital Platform enabled smooth integration between different medical data sources, thereby triggering evidence based treatment procedures. Machine Learning models were continuously enriched with real time data coming through diagnostic devices connected to the in-patients. This enabled the models to discover and predict medical emergencies with greater accuracy. These emergencies were then shared in real time with medical professionals.

High volume data processing capabilities of ICG’s IoT/AI Digital Platform, combined with easy integration with external data science platforms like IBM Watson Health Cloud, and the ability to analyze anonymized patient data to self train machine learning models helped in reducing diagnostic time, avoid emergencies, and significantly improve the quality of service provided by the dialysis service provider.

Industrial IoT

Business Summary
A global utility company offering a variety of products and services wanted to better manage its devices as unavailability of these devices could potentially result in delayed operations and massive financial losses.

The Challenge
Being able to commission or replace a device before functional failure, tracking optimal use of usebased devices and the physical security of devices while being notified of device movements, proved business-critical. To achieve this the following were required: (a) Prediction of failure; (b) Usage Monitoring; (c) Tracking of device location.

The Solution
ICG’s IoT/AI Digital Platform provided the required technology for predictive maintenance, tracking and remote monitoring of devices. The devices were fitted with sensors and GPS trackers;  Events from these devices were processed and analyzed through the platform’s event stream processor and a machine learning model. The platform predicted possible abnormalities in device functions through prescriptive analysis and triggered alerts based on business rules.

Through visual analysis and reporting assisted tracking, ICG’s IoT/AI Digital Platform helped in reducing overall operational costs for the company by close to 30%. A drop in device tampering and misuse through the platform’s intelligent asset monitoring solution helped in increasing the company’s revenue by 5%.
